Christine Mastrobattista

November 11, 1926 — January 28, 2011

Christine Mastrobattista, 84 of Abilene, passed away at a local medical facility on January 28th, 2011. There will be a visitation with the family from 3-4 pm on Sunday, January 30th at Piersall-Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St with a service to follow in the chapel. A graveside service will be held in New Jersey at a later date.

Christine was born to Luther and Rebecca Clifton on November the 11th, 1926 in Pulaski, TN. After graduating from Giles County High School she went on to attend David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. She met Peter Mastrobattista at Camp Shiloh, a summer camp in New Jersey for under privileged children from New York City. After they married, Peter and Christine resided in New Jersey where together they raised five children. While in New Jersey Christine pursued a career in Real Estate.


Surviving Christine are two sons; Jon and James (Jackie) Mastrobattista, three daughters; Joan (Leallen) Smith, Carol (Stacy) Evans, and Meg Mastrobattista, ten grandchildren; Stephanie Mastrobattista, Tyler Moore, Bradley, Jennifer, and Michael Evans, Andrew, Matthew, Catherine, and Christina Smith, and Devin Mastrobattista, as well as a sister, Ima Willie. In addition, Christine is survived by many other extended family members and close friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two sisters; Aline Stanley and Joan Clifton, and a brother, M.L. Clifton.
