Dr. Kenneth Buck Williams was blessed by the Lord’s Angels and whisked away to Glory Land on Thursday, May 8th, 2014 at 84 years of age.
Kenneth was born in Petersburg, Texas to Willie Benjamin and Evelyn Isabelle (McClintock) Williams on January 18, 1930. Kenneth completed his PhD at the University of Arizona.
Following high school in Durango, Colorado Kenneth attended Abilene Christian College and received his BS in Biology in 1950.
On June 6, 1952 Kenneth married the love of his life Norma Jean Tomlinson in Canyon, TX. They began their married life in Waco, while Kenneth served in the United States Air Force. After his service in the United States Air Force, he received his Master’s degree from the University of Texas. Kenneth was also a successful farmer in the Panhandle and continued to enjoy farming throughout his life.
Kenneth was a hard worker in every aspect of his life. Dr. Kenneth B. Williams came to Abilene Christian University in September 1967 and served the students of the University for more than 32 years in the Science Department. He also taught in Tsaile, Arizona at the Diné College on the Navajo Reservation. He had a great love for teaching. Kenneth was a long time faithful member of the University Church of Christ.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Norma Jean, daughter, Cherri and husband Dr. Dale Goad, son, Mark, two grandsons Briton and Adrian Goad, two brothers Kevin Williams and wife Carol, Dr. Arthur Williams and wife Jacqueline, three sisters Bennie Belle Price, Marquisette Strand and Priscilla Dick and husband Gary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin infant brothers, and son Brad Williams.
2nd Timothy 4:6-8 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Family Visitation will be from 4-6 on Monday, May 12 at the University Church of Christ in the Family Room. Services will be held on May 13 at 10:00 am at the University Church of Christ Chapel under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors.
